So I went to vent for a little bit here guys. This year I’m going to back to university and I have to choose a degree and I’ve been REALLY thinking of becoming a teacher. I have a huge passion for kids of all ages, also the fact I have a family member with down syndrom and I helped him with school stuff really helped me decide. Thing is I’m really emotional and I think if I see a kid in need I’ll really want to help…. Is it dumb? Because in my mind a teacher isn’t just for teaching but it’s also a big part of a child’s life. Am I thinking too much about it? Also what do you guys think? Is it ok for me to care this much and be a teacher? I just want some opinions.

    Mood : Confused
    • You will be a great teacher @marikofujimoto, you are caring, kind and sweet Mariko and I’m sure you would inspire so many people, follow your dreams and make them come true sweetie, you can do it, remember to always believe in yourself and know you will be successful :) <3 (hugs)

    • Teaching is the most underrated profession. A teacher’s role is to shape the future of hundreds of kids throughout his lifetime. It’s sad that many teachers nowadays fall short on that. It’s a great profession in my opinion and I’d definitely recommend it to you if you truly wish to help and motivate kids around you.

    • @marikofujimoto as long as you don’t get into a codependent dynamic with it, why not.

    • You would be the best teacher ever. Ask yourself this, what is the best teacher you ever had? Did he or she posess personality traits that you have? Also think about your worse teacher. Do you think you can do the job they lack doing properly? I’m pretty sure you will! I say give it a go. I had teachers that cried and laugh with me. Their humans just like you :) you will be amazing

    • @oliver thank you, for real. I seriously hope I can be a good and caring teacher. I’ll work hard for it!

    • @skimrish I agree 100% with what you said. Sadly not many people understand the hard work and responsability of it. But it’s one of the reasons why I want to do this. Thank you so much, I’ll work really hard to become an amazing teacher

    • @rinseandrep Oh not at all, I’m emotional but I would never reach that extreme. Is not healthy or professional

    • @layla95 After doing what you said it really helped me to have a more clear mind about it. I really needed that, thank you so much :)
