Why is it that no despite all the sacrifices I make for my family they treat me like dirt?

I sacrifice and give so much of myself to my family do they treat me like dirt? My husband doesn’t back me up or support me, my grandmother who I defended against my brother who stole from her, wrote out checks in her name and lives off of her SHE DEFENDS WITH EVERY FIBER OF HER BEING! I GIVE ALL OF ME BUT THEY ONLY FOCUS ON MY FLAWS! If I need support from those that treat me that way and turn to my husband, he then says that I probably did something or maybe I yelled and so I deserve it!

I'm sorry to hear what you are going through. You can make things better. Following your effort in trying to make things better, others will help out too. However, don't ever expect people to sacrifice for you because of your sacrifices. Sacrifices are selfless and don't EVER expect people to acknowledge you in any way. If you are expecting something in return then turn around. You can make compromises instead. I'm not saying sacrificing is bad but when it affects you like this, you should stop. What's wrong in standing up for yourself? Why should you be submissive? You do deserve better and you know it! So don't always settle down for something just because you think you have to or because others ask you to. Also, don't let what they say affect you so much. When you know your worth then focus on that. They obviously love you and if they don't, I'm just surprised. Stop worrying. Stand up for yourself. It isn't wrong. You'll be fine. Take care of yourself and good luck. :)

Maybe stop doing ordinary things in the family house-hold, take the family out or just simply tell them to do everything themselves, than you'll earn their respect. Sorry if this doesn't help your situation.
