What would you choose?

So here’s my dilemma. I go to a community college and for 2 years I had no idea what I want to study. Finally this spring I will be receiving my AA degree. I finally figured out I want to study radiography but it will take semester of school to qualify for the program then I have to be accepted and wait a whole year. I have also thought of just being a personal trainer FT and starting my own business. I charge about 75 a session and do 15 sessions a week(you do the math). The question i’m asking is should I go to school and wait to see if I get accepted into the program or should I just do my personal training FT? Keep in mind I thought about going to a university but according to my pell grant and scholarships my senior year at a university would not be covered because I took too many credit hours at my CC (85 credit hours). Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated heavily!

You can't do a little of both?

Well, I can still train people the same as I do now but should I invest my time in money into school or my business because I won't be able to do both for financial reasons.

Go for the degree. At the very least, get the associates degree, but still try to aim for the bachelor's degree. So what if you have to pay for the last year? Work a part-time job to pay for it. It's what most people do. It will be well worth it. Do not rely on any kind of personal business strategies, since accidents do happen, and you could be injured one day and out of a job and money. Your business plan relies on your health and the stability of clientele, and both factors are not guaranteed. The degrees can never be taken away and give you a lifetime of use. Plus, when you're older, you won't have as much energy to go back to school. Do it while the mind and body are fresh. This is from personal experience and from knowing others who did not finish college. The degree makes life SO much easier.

You might also consider a physical therapy assistant or sports management degree program. Some schools offer the degree online.

What are the odds of you being accepted into the program? Is ft something you really enjoy or are you doing it for the money?

There is no bachelors for radiography it's a terminal separate associate degree 90 kids apply 30 get accepted. I failed at my first university due to a relative died. Since I been at my CC my grades have been going up. The only university near me is USF south florida and is 32,000 a year out of pocket I cannot make that lol. I like training people and an ex pro athlete. Also if I decide to try another degree program I have to do those pre requisites too and it's cheaper to do per requisites at my CC than USF

Well it sounds like for now it would be easier for you to do the personal training. You already have some customers established as you said before. Maybe as you work In that you can save some money to do the radiography in the future.
