what religion fits with my morals/values

0

If you can help me out with this, I can’t thank you enough :D .

I believe in evolution ( there is proof of evolution ).

I believe in equal rights ( gay rights, womens rights, ect ).

I believe a person should be able to do what they want, unless it hurts someone else physically, mentally, or emotionally.

Please give me any info, guesses are fine too. Thank you :L

No religion fits your views and values and even if one did that's not what religion is about, you can't just choose to believe something because it fits your morality. Just be happy with your naturalistic views and thoughts and consider yourself a non-religious person, if you're searching for spirituality you can find that in many other things than religion - the amazing facts of the universe certainly fuel my spiritual side.Sure Satanism is pretty close, but "I believe a person should be able to do what they want, unless it hurts someone else physically, mentally, or emotionally." is not exactly with in the satanistic criteria, atleast not if we're talking LaVey satanism. Also equal rights isn't really the same thing in LaVey satanism either.

Satanism actually fits all of those values exactly, although I understand it's not for everyone... But there's nothing wrong with Atheism. Most religions generally don't promote equality in my opinion, especially as they see their deity as being above everyone else, so it could be difficult to find another that ties in with all your values. Satanism is about being your own God, doing what makes you happy and respecting everyone else, and it is not, as many people assume, about worshipping the devil.

I am an Atheist Humanist, and those are my views precisely. You do not HAVE to be attached to a religion. The statement "you have to believe in something" does not mean you must have a religion.

I mean, wicca comes to mind, but I don't think there's a lot of information you've told us about your spiritual beliefs to say.

I am talking about LaVey Satanism, and as far as I'm aware, having read the Satanic Bible, it is against hurting other people in any way, without very good cause (such as self defense).

Talk to the parish priest at an Episcopal Church. Tell him exactly what you have written here. You may end up surprised at how welcome you would be there.

Try not to categorize it as any religion - rather a way of life. Don't sweat the small things, everyone has different beliefs and different morals and to be honest - I doubt everyone lives by specifics of every religion anyways :)

If you think Satanism causes so much destruction you don't know much about satanism. They are not following the christian Satan's ways, Satan to them is a symbol of something entirely else.

Hmmm... interesting as If you look up on the nett regarding satanism, you can see what I am talking about,I dont want to and want continue this ,but I was like others putting their opinion out,as a question was asked. If you look just at what LaVeyan says below as found on the nett, you can see that it mentions things that I do not believe is good, and what I was saying is why would you want to follow those things
It does mentioon "exhibit kindness to their friends, and attack their enemies"Why attack your ememies?? to me just that in it self tells you that its not good to follow..and its things like this I disagree with and a lot more, and what I was refereing to.Read below a very small part of what I found.
LaVeyan Satanism is a philosophy (not considered a religion by many of its followers) founded in 1966 by Anton Szandor LaVey. Its teachings are based on individualism, epicureanism,[14] and "eye for an eye" morality. Unlike theistic Satanists, LaVeyan Satanists are atheists who regard Satan as a symbol of man's inherent nature.[15] According to religioustolerance.org, LaVeyan Satanism is a "small religious group that is unrelated to any other faith, and whose members feel free to satisfy their urges responsibly, exhibit kindness to their friends, and attack their enemies".[16] Its beliefs were first detailed in The Satanic Bible and it is overseen by the Church of Satan.
