What are ways of asking a male for their number (as a friend), without it being awkward?

oh had the same prob, but now i just ask . here how say it. "hey dude let me get your num man so we could chill or something". be yourself and just ask. "let me get yo num so i can hit you up".(Usually its after small talk or something) Dont dawn on the thought of it being gay or coming off as gay push it far from your mind. just ask in your own swag. hope i was a help

i have always just said something like "hey we should hang out sometime, whats the best way to contact you" if they say look me up on facebook they probably dont want you to have there number, but most the time they will say just text me, it doesnt have to be weird or anything, just ask a general question for contact info, its as simple as that. hope that helped

Just be yourself... I asked a lot of guys for their number... And its never awkward lol... just say.. hey! Can i have your number? got a boring contacts here... lol.. just say funny stuff.... No need to be like an alien to them lol.... your friends aren't you? Just act Normally :)

Ahaha I just pictured that awkward moment when both guys want each other's number, they do an awkward shuffle then they both hesitate. Look, it'll only ever be awkward if you make it awkward. I'm a straight female but there are times when I want a guy's number without trying to look like I'm into him . I just say "Can you put your number in my phone I use it more than facebook" "Or "I'm more reachable on my phone can you give me your number so we can whatsapp?". These always feel less awkward than "Lemme get them digits!" or something else corny, but I mean corny could work if they get your humor.
