Should I email my teachers before or after 1st day of school?

In a few days my senior year of high school is going to start. I’ve figured out I wasn’t really in the gender binary quite awhile back but I’ve kept it to myself. I’ve told my close friends about 6 months back and it’s slowly leaked around the ‘circle’ of friends. So anyways this year I really want to try to go threw it as myself and not pretending to be something else.
So anyways, I’m going to email my teachers and try to let them know what’s up, that I want to go by Jason and prefer masculine pronouns. Should I do this before I ever see them or wait until after the first day and got to see them and my class a little? I have anxiety as it is so trying to figure this out has been super stressful. Thanks!

You need to do it before school. This way your teachers and peers will know what to call you and no one will be confused. If you wait a day then everyone will be confused because it was okay to call you a female yesterday but why did it change today? That's probably the thought process. Do it before! Good luck and I hope you have a wonderful senior year being who you are:)
If I were you I'd do it before school
