Shame I’m no good at following my own advice

1

I seem to be able to give out plenty of advice to people on here and yet I’m not great at following the advice I give.

I have been single for over a year now and I want to meet someone but it’s seemingly impossible to do so (I have tried all manner of things i.e. internet dating, etc) and no luck.

Any ideas?

I think it's pretty common to suck at following your own advice. I've helped my friends with their relationships but I've never been in one. It's easier to help a relationship from the outside. It's different when you're the one on the inside. I'd say try to go out of your way to talk to people in the things you do everyday. Think of what you do often and ask yourself if there are any other people you can talk and do the same thing with. Again me giving advice is the easy part. It's up to you to do the footwork. Best wishes to you.

That happen to us all sometimes you know, when we were giving people advices its not always based on our experiences, sometimes it based on the "ideals". The most appropriate answer, the things people most likely to do in that kind of situation.I don't really recommend the internet for that sort of thing, idk I found internet isn't that trustworthy lol. Have you tried to ask your friends/family? Maybe they have some acquaintances or some sort. I mean, your family and besties would want the best for you, right? They wouldn't suggest someone they don't trust or someone they think isn't good enough. Thats all I could say, good luck :)

Focus on yourself for a year. Thats what I did, take some time to reflect, do something new, maybe meet new friends wile doing it! I did it when I was in the same spot as you. - Then out of nothing I meet my husband. (after telling him no on dating for a few months because I was doing me time.)I grew as a person by focusing on my self, and had fun not worrying on anything but myself. As well as learning new things!

I think Kathryn has already given the best answer and I am myself going to follow it now as well. Thanks to all of you folks for helping.
