Remedies to fall asleep at night?

0

I have troubles falling asleep at night and I hate it, because I am the only one awake. I have arthritis and so that might play a role due to back pain I have, but still…what are some remedies to be able to fall asleep faster without taking medicine? I am 17 also.

I use Melatonin, it's a natural supplement, Its good stuff, you can get them in 1mg, 5mg, 10mg iterations.... my research says that you can take up to 20mg safely. But honestly 2-7mg is all you need, I use it everyday for a week, then don't use it for 1-2 weeks, then use it everyday for a week, then don't use it until it is needed... sometimes a month can go by that i don't need it. I can guarantee that this stuff works... you find it at any grocery or drugstore in the vitamins/supplements aisle.

You could try to drink some warm milk or hot chocolate milk, before going to sleep. This can make you feel a bit more sleepy. You can also try to put something scented on your pillow. Some stores sell little bottles with lavender and other smells that you can drop on your pillow. You could also try to listen to something that soothes you to help you sleep. It could be the sound of the rain or a relaxing song. You can also try a breathing technique that can help you relax and help you fall asleep.

I have arthritis too, and I use a heating pad every night. It helps so much! If you get one though, make sure it automatically shuts off after awhile. You don't want to fall asleep while using it and get burned. Also, I read somewhere that you should pay attention to what position you wake up in during the morning. It's said that that position is the one where you're most comfortable, so falling asleep that way should help you throughout the night.
