Random Bursts of VERY HIGH Energy

0

So this is something that’s been bothering me a bit, but I can’t seem to find out what causes it. At random times I sometimes have bursts of very, very high energy. By that I mean like running around, screaming, hitting things, twitching my face and eyes, saying random stuff, dancing, etc. I laugh a lot, sing, yell and everything, just generally being very excited and hyper. I usually end up pounding on my thighs a bunch and yelling random things to try and get rid of this energy. I can’t control myself when I’m like this, it’s like I’m on drugs or something.

I’m diagnosed and take medicine for depression. It’s not really a major thing, just chronic low mood and apathy. I usually don’t have much motivation to do much and am content to lay around and do nothing. These bursts of energy don’t happen too often, and only last maybe 30 minutes at the most, but it’s very hard to control myself when I’m like that, it’s like unlimited excitement.

My therapist thinks I may have ADHD because of my problems with focusing and stuff, could this possibly be a symptom or something?

It just strikes me as odd because it’s the opposite of have how I usually am, lacking of energy, quiet, lazy, uncaring. Does anyone know what could be the reason for this?

From what I've seen and noticed in the few short years I've been on this Earth, I've noticed that mental illnesses tend to travel in groups. If you have one thing, you may very well have another. Depression is one that loves to bring a friend, so ADHD could very well be a symptom: a sudden need for your body to let out all those repressed feelings and scream at the world the injustice of it all. I digress; It could very well be a symptom. I wouldn't focus on that aspect, just get whatever meds you need to be safe and happy, and stay positive.
