TBH, in my personal experience, the best thing for depression is finding a routine that you are obligated to uphold. For me, that was getting a job. For you, it could be something else. Just find something that you really want to do - take a yoga class, sign up for a pottery class at your local community college, hire a personal trainer (exercise is a great anti-depressant) - and make it an obligation, a routine. Something you can't skip out on that will get you out of the house and moving, doing things, anything. You don't necessarily have to change everything, just make small changes that you actually WANT. For me, I wanted financial independence. Maybe you want something that's more about fun or maybe you want to go volunteer for your community. Even seeing a counselor/therapist regularly could help (you don't have to take meds). Depression sucks - I struggled with it for over a year and could barely even leave my room. Message me if you want to talk about it.
