i’d like your opinion on this problem…

i have trouble concentrating and paying attention, i forget alot of stuff like homework, words, belongings and appointments in general, not to mention whenever the teacher starts talking i just unwillingly drift off and start daydreaming, doodling or anything to distract myself because i just can’t pay attention to one thing for more than 5 minutes, really tiring.

i also forget what i say mid sentence and sometimes have trouble undertsanding what people say even when they speak directly to me, its like i hear their voice but i don’t understand (when they repeat what they say usually it turns out to be something as simple as ‘bring me water from the box’)

its really getting in the way of my studies and its already my senior year, i’ve never minded it all my life but now that i’m getting into collage i don’t want it to get in the way it has been long enough, i even lost the house keys and 2 iPhones, the third phone get broken because i was jumping and forgot i had in in my pocket, not to mention i lose my current phone at least 3 times a week if not 5.

you have any thoughts that might help me get through this\’

I have ADD myself, and what you have sounds so similar. Seeing a doctor will help you, and give you some medication to help. It's nothing wrong, don't worry! Eventually, you won't even need the meds to control your symptoms, you'll be able to do that all on your own. As for your forgetfulness, carry a little planner. Write down EVERYTHING so you don't forget it, and have a note on your door or bedside table, reminding you to check it. Get into the habit of writing down things in it so you don't forget, as well as reading it habitually. It really works :)

Definitely sounds like ADD, but rule out the obvious things first, your doctor can help you with this as well. Even things like, lack of sleep can cause the symptoms you mentioned. Anytime your symptoms are effecting you ability to live life, it is time to ask for help!

Good luck! Hope you find the answers you are looking for!

I think you should, it sounds like ADD to me. My friend has similar things to what is happening to you and he takes medication to focus and stuff.
