I NEED HELP!

So I need to find out ways to lose weight. im 13 and 150bls and very insecure about my weight. my family makes fat jokes about me all the time. I don’t eat or drink any sweets or sodas, and I walk almost everywhere. I also have to run up and down my stairs multiple times a day. I drink loads of water, I exercise, and I barely eat more than 1000 calories a day, but I still cant lose the weight. in fact, I seem to be gaining. I really need to find another way to lose weight without diet pills, cuz my parents would find out. I have a feeling that im becoming anorexic; im obessed with counting calories… :(

P.S. no I do not want to become bulimic, but if throwing up is the only way…

There is also a possibility that you've got something else going on. Right now, at age 13, your body is just now starting to develop and gain a metabolism. My brother was chubby til he hit his freshman year, then in one short summer his fat was gone and he'd grown a foot and a half. Trust me, right now your body is just getting its hormones and all that good stuff sorted out. Give yourself time and see what happens. Keep counting calories, but don't cut yourself short. Growing bodies need more calories than adults do; cutting back too much can actually negatively impact your growth.

I want to hit your family in the face. NO ONE deserves to be mocked for their body, especially when you are trying so hard to change things. Try telling them that they're hurting your feelings; if they don't let up, tell a school counselor. Verbal abuse is NOT okay.

If this (your weight) continues to be a problem, if you're still worried after your body has matured, you should ask to talk to your doctor. There is a slim chance something else is going on in your body. I don't want to panic you by going into a lot of detail here - the issues are minor and it is unlikely you have an actual medical problem.

running, swimming and dancing... also ur 13... don't worry bout your body so much, let yourself grow a bit out of your baby fat.

1000 calories a day sounds good at face value, but you need to increase your caloric intake because your body is going into starvation mode and is protecting those slow-burning fat cells for energy.

When you want to lose weight, you have to meet a minimum caloric intake, but still work hard to burn out more than you take in. The truth is that there is no magic formula for weight loss; once your body becomes used to eating large meals and retaining weight, you have to go through the slow, arduous process of re-training your body to function with smaller portions and harder work-outs. Cardio is a good rule of thumb, though. You improve your cardio, and you WILL see weight loss in the next couple of years, since you're about to run full throttle into puberty.

Keep at it and you will see results. It took a long time to put weight on, and it takes a while to take it off, and you have to work to keep it off. Weight control is not a one-and-done deal. You have to commit to keeping the weight off; once your body produces fat cells to store energy, those cells do not go away, they are held in reserve to be filled if you need them, and your body will be very fast to filling them again.

Good luck, and never forget that you matter, and you are not alone.

If you really want to lose weight, you need to make sure your calorie intake is less than the amount of calories that you're burning. Try to cut out any carbohydrates. This includes bread, pasta, rice. Your family should be trying to support you, and help you instead of doing this. Don't become bulimic. You can always come and talk to me if you need any help.

Don't take pills.Walk. Reduce your intake of all artificial foods. That means most of the stuff in your average grocery store. If you have a sweet tooth, go for fruit over any artificial snack. Walk a lot. Choose to stand over sit in some cases. Walk more. Try to be happy. Depression does something to a person...they don't want to eat, so their body is afraid it will starve and thus gets stingy about burning fat, which means you store more of it and don't lose weight. Or it burns muscle and stores the fat and become weak and fat. So above all us, find a way to be happy.

You know what they say, life's a stage, that drama you're having trouble with is apart of the show, so act like you know how the story ends. (hint: it ends however you want it to)

I'm sorry you're experiencing this at such a young age hun, but tips I would say is to basically exercise more everyday as you progress (as in adding more time to your exercising time amount everyday) and basically what that will due is that if you gain more muscle basically it helps with your metabolism (that is why guys barely ever get fat) either then that cut off any junk food and soft drinks and eat a lot of greens and less grains, keep drinking plenty of water and gets loads of sleep! My family was like that too hun they most likely don't mean it :* just make sure not to turn to bulimia or anorexia hun, its better to stay healthy, oh! and also eat more then 1000 calories a day but work out more, 1000 calories a day is very bad (people who lose 15-20 mounts a month digest over 2500 calories) xoxo

sometimes drinking too much water gains weight. not totally sure about this, just make sure /everything/ is in moderation, not only unhealthy foods. c:
