If its something like a panic attack take a deep breath through the nose for 7 seconds or as close as you can get, then hold your breath for 5 seconds, and then breath out for 10 seconds or as close as you can get. Repeat this until you've managed to calm down.If its something else, try participating in something you enjoy that isn't related to strain on your body (unless its something like yoga). This should help you reach a more relaxed state of mind. Calming music such as choir, zen, and slow instrumental can also help.
