How long should i wait

My boyfriend and I have been dating for four years. I love this man Beyond a shadow of a doubt. I don’t know if he will ever asked me to marry him. He has been married before and has a daughter. I am trying to be patient and just enjoy the ride and I don’t want to bring it up constantly because I feel like it is nagging and life is stressful enough so my question is how long should I wait?

If I ask him any personal questions he would say that I’m the most important thing in his life besides his daughter but how do I know that I’m not just a babysitter for him and or The in between relationship from his marriage to his next one.

Marriage is nothing more than a piece of paper. How you treat each other and how you live your life speaks greater truth than that piece of paper ever will.

If you want to be married so desperately that you are thinking of leaving him if he doesn't ask you to marry you than you might want to re-evaluate your relationship. Especially if you feel like the glorified babysitter.

I guess im wanting him to take initiative and ask my father. We are wonderful together and i dont want to push it on him. My parents are also retired and i would like them to give me away before its to late. His parents are only in there 40s so maybe he feels like their is plenty of time or perhaps hes just not inlove anymore

we communicate pretty well its not as if i havent brought it up once and its not as if he ignors it he happily replys saying we are going to get married one day or i cant wait to marry you. But then things just go as they are year after year. I dont know maybe im just being impatient. I feel like he needs someone to light a fire under his butt. Haha
