Here is a experiment proven fact for you: second guessing is the root of regret, wondering if things could have been done better is what destroys the pursuit of happiness. You cannot allow yourself to procrastinate because of indecisiveness. This is one of the main reasons why people procrastinate, and it is a terrible reason. It makes starting projects more of an ordeal than finishing them. Imagine if you are indecisive your whole life, and you are on your death bed. You will have accomplished little and it would suck! you'd want to go back in time and tell yourself to start SOMETHING, anything. So. next time you catch yourself second guessing, imagine a future you telling yourself to start something, anything. You have absolutely nothing to lose. again, You have absolutely nothing at all to lose. You mess up a page on your sketchbook? screw it, you tried and you can try again and once the pages are filled you can buy another one. Where is the risk really? Just keep going. Seize the day, the moment, the opportunities, whatever it is you want to do, say yes to it and give it a try.

Well, what I always do when I start second guessing myself, is trying one more time. If it doesn't work out, then try it in your own way first. If you really like drawing, then try to develop your own style. And with that you can always use pencils and an eraser, but I taught myself to stop correcting myself by using pen instead. Try to train yourself in not giving up. The most insecure are usually the most creative. Maybe you'll find your thing one day and you turn out to be a great artist. Who knows?

Get a second, scrap sketchbook so you can rough out your ideas before you do them properly in your new one, or just work on blank sheets of paper and if you do something good that you want to keep then you can paste it in. A scrap sketchbook is also great for collecting cuttings from magazines or just pretty things like leaves and feathers, or for experimenting with different media. Then later you can sell your empty new sketchbook or give it to someone as a present.
Sorry, I don't know about the second-guessing... maybe when you doubt yourself you could just make a determined effort to prove yourself wrong!

I've already seen some great answers, but here's another one ;)Ok, just stop and think. Think about all the things you like about yourself, maybe its your eyes, or your smile, or anything, after you've thought of everything you can possibly think of, just sit there and be happy, because you've just realized how special and beautiful you are!

Life is too short for second guessing. Make your choices, move on and try to learn from mistakes. In hindsight, everything is 20/20 but no one has that. Cheer up and move on!
