How do i stop? When i think it’s the only way. what i deserve?

I have been relapsing, a lot. and i haven’t in a few days but i feel the urge to. my scars are fading. i feel like i still deserve the reminder of how much i hate myself.. what do i do to stop? :’c

Have you ever heard of the butterfly project? When you feel like you want to cut, take a marker or pen and draw a butterfly wherever the self-harm occurs and name the butterfly after a loved one, or someone that really wants you to get better. If you cut before the butterfly is gone, it dies. if you don't cut, it lives. I believe it is a positive way of working with self harm, though personally I have never properly cut I used to scratch away at the skin on my arms to 'punish' myself but the butterfly project helped a lot. It made me think about others and not just my own pain.I really hope this will help you, peace and love x

^ I agree with Hazel! The butterfly project is a great alternative! I've used it and it really helped a lot. Another simple alternative it just using a pen or marker to draw lines on yourself instead of harming yourself. I hope this helps. You can always message me if you need someone to talk to also.

The butterfly one is really helpful, but the one that helped me was every morning I'd write in permanent marker wrists are for bracelets, not cuts." I would also think of my closest friend who cried really hard when I told her. She has helped me through this whole thing, and I'm grateful. Hope I helped. :)
