How do I stay calm?

1

I have severe anxiety. And sometimes I cant afford to get my medicine that i need to control it. If for some reason, it acts up or something stresses me out, anything… Are there some methods or something I can do to stay calm?

I have severe anxiety as well, normally when I have anxiety attacks, I try to go off somewhere by myself and find time to calm down. If you're in a public place or school, excuse yourself or ask to go to the bathroom. If it happens at home, try drinking some hot tea or taking a nice warm bath. Much luck <3

Have you tried meditation? I do it very regularly and I have found that even just spending 5 minutes a day just relaxing and breathing can help as well or in some cases, better than medication. If you have already tried that, having a healthy diet and some exercise always does the body good. Even something like a morning or evening walk can release stress and increase peace. :) I hope these will help you friend! ~Shawn A. Kidd

When I was younger, I dealt with regular anxiety attacks. Triggered by depression, the things around me in my life, and sometimes nothing at all! It's terrible, and I know how you feel. What I did, was find a safe place. Find a place in your home, or even in your surroundings, that makes you feel safe. Keep a "Care kit" around that area, full of other things that make you feel safe as well! A book, a movie, a book, or some music that makes you feel safe and relaxed most of the time. When you feel yourself beginning to get anxious, and you feel an attack coming on? Go to your safe place, and take those things out. Look, listen, and appreciate them. And remind yourself... Everything is fine! I am here, and thinks are going to be all right. This is a perfectly normal feeling, and it will pass. I can be, and will be fine. I can get through this." Hope this helps!
