How can I take my mind off of my depression?

0

I’ve got clinical depression and Bipolar II disorder and I always feel like I have to wait around on other people to do something in the evening or at a weekend. I’m fed up with having to do that and being left sat on my own sad and depressed for hours on both Saturday and Sunday and want something to do.

I don’t want anything too hard or something that takes up too much effort, but I’d just like something to take my mind off of my depression and get me out of the house, moving around, or at least just taking my mind off of my idle depressed thoughts. I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions? Thanks.

My first suggestion is to find a way to fill your spare time helping others. It's one thing I do to keep my mind off my problems. If your depression doesn't manifest itself with social anxiety, you might also try looking for some group activities to get involved in. You don't need another person to get you out of your home, you can do that on your own.
