Help me with my anxiety?

0

I have pretty bad anxiety, specifically hypochondria. I mostly fear heart attacks and fatal diseases and accidents.

About an hour ago I was bitten by a bull ant or something, it’s swollen and painful and stuff like that but no biggie.

The pain thing giving me trouble at the moment is the fact that I am horrified that I might be anaphylactic, have a reaction and die from this bite.

I have never been diagnosed as anaphylactic and I’m not allergic to anything really.

I need a way to stop fretting about things as they pop up! I was having a great day and then boom, I’m going to die for the rest of it.

Thank you!

First off you've made a really good first step in identifying that the thoughts you've been having are irrational. Yes it can be very stressful when things like this happen, however knowing about your hypochondria can help you identify that the feelings that you have are not rational and there is no real reason for your concern. Take deep breathes and with each breath imagine all the worries you have inside you are just being blown out of you like a pump. Breath in through your nose and out your mouth. Something you may want to consider is seeing a psychologist or maybe even a doctor or psychiatrist. They can help immensely with anxiety issues, and could give you some short term medications if it gets too bad. And seeing a psychologist could really help to sort out all your worries and fears in an effective and positive manner and keep it under control.
