Gender Confusion

0

So I was born female, and I feel like I’m a male in my head/brain. I’m super confused because its not that I’m uncomfortable in my skin, I just don’t know what the feeling is because its hard to describe, and I don’t know why… I’m super confused about the whole thing, and have been for years.

Well, from what i've learned in my sociology and psych classes this year, is that that is a genuine feeling most transgendered people have or often oppress, the feeling that they were born in the wrong body type. This does not necessarily make you gay, or straight or however you feel about the opposite sex because in these circumstances that is completely irrelevant. This is a purely a question of identity. I suggest you reach out to someone you are able to or comfortable talking with, as opposed to oppressing these feelings which can only create damage within yourself, or possibly to others. As cliche as it may be, you have to be yourself in situations like these, don't be scared, and trust the people in your life around you to be able to support you.

Most transgender people feel some gender dysphoria, but it's important that everyone experiences being trans* differently.Would you prefer people to use male pronouns (he/him/his) when referring to you? Are you uncomfortable with your female name? Do you want people to think of you as a male? If you said yes to these, I would say you are probably transgender...but even if you didn't, that doesn't mean you can't be.From my own experience, if you think about being trans* a lot, you probably are!
