Does anyone else have schizotypal personality disorder?

I was just diagnosed with it and was wondering more about it.

The American Psychiatric Association defined Schizotypal Personality Disorder as a "pervasive pattern of social and interpersonal deficits marked by acute discomfort with, and reduced capacity for, close relationships as well as by cognitive or perceptual distortions and eccentricities of behavior, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts". As always getting a new diagnosis won't change how you feel much at all. But it will change how you are treated. You may be prescribed some medications that are either SSRI's (antidepressants) or anti-psychotics. These medications will help a lot with how you are feeling and thinking, and if you're prescribed, don't stop taking them. It can be very dangerous to stop taking those medications unless your doctor says you don't need to anymore or switches you. I don't have schizotypal personality disorder but I do happen to know about it. Finding support among this community and others if you can will also be helpful. So listen to what other people tell you as well. I hope this was helpful at least a bit. I hope the best for you!
