Depression caused by Zoloft

0

I was prescribed Zoloft for OCD and mood swings about a week ago. I haven’t had mood swings in a couple of months though. I recently keep thinking of suicide. I have no plans of doing it, but the thoughts just keep coming in my head. Will they often disappear after my body gets used to it?

i'm currently taking zoloft for the same reasons as well. for me it's working wonders, but everyone's different! it took me months to find the right medicine! for me, prozac and effexor caused those feelings for me. you should definitely talk to your doctor, tell him/her how you feel, and see if you can possibly switch. good luck!

I'm currently on Zoloft as well but for different reasons. Being that it's only been a week that you've been taking it, I don't think it's had enough time to build up in your system to really have any noticeable effects; I think most people would agree with me on that. My psychiatrist told me that it takes about a week and a half to two weeks before it makes even a slight difference. So therefore I doubt that the Zoloft is the cause of the suicidal thoughts. Is it possible that something else could be triggering such thoughts...?

i was on prozac for about 2 months and i had the exact same symptoms. i would switch medications, that's what I did.
