Can long term relationships (2 years +) have any hope of lasting if any cheating is involved?

This is a very broad question. I havent been cheated on nor do I plan to but I am truly curious about real life experiences of couples who have survived and moved past it all to achieve greater happiness.

I welcome all opinions whether you’ve had experience with cheating or being cheated on etc. Please and thank you !

It mostly depends on how you both feel about each other and the amount of trust/bond you have.

Cheating severely damages trust that has taken years to build, and it usually slows down the rate a which trust is built in the future. A lot of couples decide to give the relationship another chance and start fresh, but a lot of these fresh starts often end soon because the partner who was cheated on becomes skeptic and insecure and this leads to frequent problems that take their toll on the relationship.
