Hi! Good evening. or Good morning, to everyone who’ll be able to see this…uh, question. I’ve been wanting to write a story, and I have no idea how to start. And, I don’t even know how to narrate properly, So I think what I’m trying to say is, can you help me write better? I mean, I don’t know, maybe a piece of advice on how to..uh, make a story seem… interesting?.. The genre I’m thinking of is a mixture, or combination of romance,fantasy,mystery..and a little bit of tragedy I guess. So, I am open to any suggestions, And I really really really reallllyyyyyyyyyyyy hope that you can help me.
Thank You, and sorry for the disturbance.

Well one thing you should always do is when you start writing, write at least a page everyday. That is one piece of advice that most writers will give. The second, I just ran across this a while ago but it might be helpful, Its Pixar's 22 rules of storytelling which has alot of good advice for storytelling. http://www.damnlol.com/pixars-22-rules-of-storytelling-38728.html

The first thing I'd recommend you to do, is read a lot of books and go through your favorite books and sort of analyze them. The grammar, the way they've written. What is it that makes you like them so much? Starting with the genres you like.

Another important thing is to get into the habit of writing, anything to get your mind going. Try doing some simple writing exercises. Just start writing anything, don't worry about the grammar or whatever just go at it.

One important thing every story need to have is a complication. Like if you're writing a criminal novel, obviously the complication would be for the person to figure out who committed the crime and why, and preferably a plot twist at the end when it turns out that someone you didn't suspect really was the one you were looking for.

Another thing, keep it real. One of the things most people look for in a book is realism. Don't make your characters do something they never would do. If the story takes place in the sixties, don't add in things that weren't invented etc. Fantasy is perfectly fine to have, but there's gotta be some realism in there as well. Some way to explain it so that the readers can make sense of what happens.

I better cut it short now, but I hope you had some help from this, if there's anything you want to ask, feel free to. Best of luck with the writing!

What you described wwould go great for a criminal romance. Just descrube things as if you are seeing them. I constantly write stories and it always helps me wth ny confusing emotions abd after reading it I understand why I was upset.
