Simple answer, you dont feel confident enough to talk to them or getting to know them. Which brings you to feel very lonely. Maybe also because you dont know them enough to feel that your with someone. It could be tough to open up but thats one big step that many have to do in order to feel that you got people around you. Anyways, i hope your able to find that gap of happyness and dont feel so lonely. I know how it could feel, and it sucks. But you know for sure your never alone. cheers!
