Should I be offended by invite?

0

My brother is getting married next year, and he (and/or his fiancée) mailed an invitation to my parents’ home addressed to “Father, Mother and Sister of the Groom”

– I am a 38 year old woman, and I moved out of my parents house 21 years ago. Should I not get my own invitation?

– My parents and I all have names. I don’t introduce myself as my brother’s sister.

– I have been in a relationship with a man for 12 years…. yet I am not invited to bring him to the wedding?

Can I be horribly offended by all this or am I overreacting? I don’t have a great relationship with my brother, but I feel my parents and I deserve more respect than this…..

Sounds like its your animosity towards your brother wanting an excuse to be angry or upset with him. Annoying yes but keep in mind they're mailing out hundreds of invites and letters and want to make things easier/cheaper.I have rocky relationships with some family as well so you have my sympathy regardless.
