i think my boss is harassing me?

i’m 16 and a girl and my boss is about 40 and he constantly makes sexual remarks to me, putting his arm around me and squishing me and standing really close to me so that i feel intimidated.

he’s thrown stuff on the floor in front of me and told me to pick it up before and then will call me names like ***** or he’ll imply that he wants me to suck him off or say that i want to shag him. he’s tried to rub my back before and the other day he jabbed me so hard in the ribbed that it winded me. he then offered another chef that i take him in the back and give him a handjob. my friend say i should definitely do something about it and it’s sexual harassment although i’m not sure what to do or if it’s really as serious as that. he once said i should suck him off although he made it out as if it was a joke and i don’t know if he’s ever serious. i also hope he doesn’t see this but i don’t know where else to go. i’m so stuck.

hi Lucy! this is definitely sexual harassment and he is not allowed to even joke like that. it's wrong and you don't have to put up with it. there are laws against stuff like that and I'm sure you can find someone who will know exactly how to act after you tell them. Good luck girl :)

This is definitely harassment Lucy! If you file a report and have witnesses, he can get fired and you have the chance of getting a new boss!

That is absolutely sexual harassment. That is highly inappropriate behavior to engage in in the workplace or anywhere not to mention that he is a 40 year old man and you are a minor. What he is doing is against the law and you should definitely report him.

It's a good idea to document it your boss's actions as soon as they happen, including the date, time and place of the offense. Don't just write you were sexually harassed, write what he did, what he said and be sure to be as detailed as possible to make sure that he gets investigated. If any of your co-workers have witnessed any of these incidents, you can see if they would be willing to corroborate your story. Then, you need to report to a human resources representative or his direct supervisor. When you report it, the employer has a legal obligation to investigate the claim and create a solution if they find it to be true.

Research everything you can do to report this man and to make sure he stops behaving this way. I would definitely suggest you bring this up with your parents and let them help you. I am sure they will be able to tell you how to best to report this.

I would refer to Lizzabeth's answer. This is harassment and is unacceptable behaviour from your boss. I hope it get's sorted out for you and that your boss is sacked because you deserve to be treated better than that. Love and peace to you, here if you need to chat x

It's more than just harassment too if he's hitting you and touching you inappropriately. Also, it doesn't matter if he says things in a joking manner. It's still considered harassment. Highly inappropriate. No one should have to subject themselves to that crap.
