How should I tell my brother that I’m worried about him?

0

So, my brother is 16 and he’s about 330 lbs. He’s very popular in school and has many friends. We were talking about bypasses because I am getting one and he was thinking about it but he said no. I think it is some what because of he’s scared of what people will say but I’m worry about having to watch him pass away before he can even start his life. I don’t know what to do and I’m not very good at sitting down and talking one on one with him because I get very emotional. Please help me. I’m so scared

Let him know that you care about his health and love him very much. You want what's best for him and his health. Maybe talk to your parents about getting him started on a diet and get a personal trainer or something. Sometimes schools have weight loss camps, so his high school might have one. Just reassure him that you want what's best for him, and that you want to help.

Motivation to change oneself is extremely hard. I can tell you this, while having a close person on ones life be honest could help, the only way one can be truly motivated to change is to have a introverted drive. If he can't find a way to make it work for him, then try to help him find one.
