my wifes mum is going in for an operation tomorrow to remove tumours from her colon (they don’t know if its cancer at the moment but it’s still a pretty big op) I’m working tomorrow and will be home in just enough time to let my wife go to work in the evening till 9pm. I have a rehearsal booked from 10pm with a band I play with and will be home pretty late. My wife is upset that I didn’t cancel the rehearsal (she didn’t ask me to cancel) and said she can’t speak to me and I’m not a nice person and that any normal person would have cancelled…
on top of similar things in the past she said she’s not sure she can go on with the marriage.
I don’t really have anyone else I can talk to about this or the “similar things in the past” I mentioned. Although I feel bad about not being there for her or making her a priority I just wanted to get folks honest opinions on whether or not that makes me a “not nice person”
