Okay, so I’m a bit new, so don’t hate me for this stupid newb question. I know about red, and I know there’s a lot of controversy about whether Ash was based off of him, but does Red ever appear in the anime? I’m pretty sure he’s in the manga, (if I’m not mistaken) and I’m a bit confused. I also know that Red and Ash are not like each other at all.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Red in the actual anime. He shows up in ‘Pokemon Origins’ and filled out the pokedex for Oak, so his time is before Ash. Another large controversy is that Red is Ash’s father (as Ash looks similar to him, and it is mentioned that Ash’s father was a pokemon trainer that left for adventure). There is a ton of pokemon conspericies out there and shady details so it’s natural to be confused. :) (also, sorry for any spelling errors)
