The boy I love, found me one summer’s day
It was perfect, the way he held me
The boy I met, said it was meant to be
And every single word I believed

But the boy I love, wasn’t the boy I met
He couldn’t be, for that boy hurt me so
The boy I met, had me feeling so low
I felt as though I needed him

But the boy I love, remains in my heart
There he will stay, locked up like a toy
The boy I met, has created this boy
The boy my heart believed he was

The boy I love, one day will be released
He will be free, and won’t come back
But only when, I know for a fact
This other boy I have found is true

I really liked this. I felt it too. Maybe i read “boy” a little too much, but i can imagine it sounding just fine if done well in a spoken word. Reading it made me wonder if i’m losing grip with the boy in me. I’m either angry, distant, or determined to run away…then again, sounds like a boy to me. hmm.

Thank you for sharing though. Please share more @daddysgirl

From the guys I know, yes that sounds like a boy. Haha. That is the main poem I have written that I like, otherwise I write quite a few lyrics.
