I’m sure for some of you, the dreaded week of finals is soon to come. It’s that time where more sleep than normal is lost, coffee sales are up, and sociability rare. We all have our methods of studying and coping with this week. How do you study for finals week (or exams in general)?

For me, it’s all about repetition and teaching others. Literally, writing everything out about 6-8 times. This evokes muscle memory in the brain, which helps– it’s a tactic commonly used in the US military too; so, it’s effective. By teaching others, I learn that my way may of working problems (if applicable) may be just as effective and shorter than the instructor’s. Not always, but if you can explain it, you can do the problem. Mainly, it’s all about incorporating as many of your senses as possible.
