I joined this site after an amazing anonymous chat after I had a mental breakdown, and it’s been amazing so far, but the problem has nothing to do with this. I’ve always had trouble sleeping, but only because I don’t get tired. I might feel dizzy, lose my bearings a bit, lose my inhibition, but I’m genuinely almost never tired. I only sleep because it’s warm or soothing, even after 5+ hours on my feet dancing for work. I just don’t get tired. So, today’s Tuesday evening where I am, and I haven’t had decent sleep since Sunday, and I plan on not sleeping again tonight. I never get any homework done in the afternoon because there’s just so many distractions. But I can do my homework really well, in peace, at 3 in the morning with Doctor Who reruns in the background. I just…does anyone else not get tired? My friends tell me I’m insane, but I love the peace I get then, and my brain functions sharper, even if my body has a slower response. I don’t want advice, just proof I’m not alone on this

It’s called insomnia. I have it too. I’m on medications for it. I take trazodone every night to make me go to sleep. But yes, I know what you’re talking about. You’re not alone.

I have an odd cycle where I stay up super late for about a week, then don’t for a week, off and on. I totally agree with you here: late night, no distractions, I get *so much* work done. It’s not an illness, it’s a useable asset. ;D Have a good day!
