I recently had my girlfriend of 6 years break up with me I wrote this poem to help me deal with things. I hope you guys like it any feedback is more than welcome.

It’s going to hurt
You know this

Logically you understand
There is no physical pain
No major bodily harm

But still
It hurts

You know that the idea of love
Is nothing more than psychology

You know that the heart
Cannot literally break

But still
It hurts

You maintain your composure
While you can

On the outside you may even appear normal
If such a thing exists

But still
It hurts

Your mind will wonder the possibilities
Of what if

Your mind will again use logic
To dictate what was and what should have been

Logically you understand
There is no Physical Pain
No major bodily harm

But still
It hurts

It’s going to hurt
Because love is very real

It’s going to hurt because
Logic has no place in love

You will hurt
You will waiver
You will struggle

You will try to make sense of something
That has no possible way of making sense

And still it will hurt.

It will hurt until time has passed
Until you can once again find who you are
And not who you are with another person

It will hurt
Because young hearts don’t break
They merely
Scar
