I’m incredibly biased, but this movie looks really good. Better than the usual summer superhero action movie. Most Superman movies aren’t too phenomenal, but I have high hopes for this one. I’m excited!

I want to be hyped, but i’ll keep my expectations low because in general, I’m not a fan of Superman (i did like most of Smallville though), but in the comics he sort of bores me, and all the films have been sort of boring for me as well. I hope this is pretty awesome though.

I thought man of steel was a bold attempt at somthing new to the mythos of Superman. The change of tone was a welcome to me. The motivation of Pa Kent was interesting to say the least. And that ending…. I liked it!

I wanted to like it… I really did. But you know, at the end of the day, this new Superman movie still never resolved the one problem I have with the hero – his romanticised idealism. I kinda wish the film would at least try to deconstruct that by showing people hating his idealism, you know? Being realistic about things?
And what’s up with the collateral damage indifference cliche? It’s like, thousands of people died from the property damage. At least “The Avengers” lampshaded that by mentioning it, even going as far as having the waitress character saying, “What, we’re supposed to blame them (the heroes) for that?”
