What helps me is to focus on the things I have control over. I get so depressed over things all the time, and most of those things are things I can’t control. For example, lately I’ve been depressed about society’s definition of what a women should be.

So instead of feeling depressed because I know I don’t fit that description, I think about the stuff that I can control. Like eating healthy, exercising, being around close family and friends. These things boost my confidence and push my depression away.

Depends on how you define happiness. If you base it off of how others perceive it, then maybe it might not be the same for you.
Accept your flaws or self doubts, that’s a start.
