I am moving to a new state to move back in with my parents. Those details aren’t too important, but I will say that I am 21 and out of school. I will not know anyone in my new state, and be about 6 public transportation hours away from my friends and boyfriend. While I never had much of a social life to begin with, I like meeting new people and would love an opportunity to make a friend or two. The library closest to us doesn’t have any clubs such as anime club, and I’m sure that if they did I would technically be too old. I am too old for the Young Adult reading group(18 and under), but I feel like I wouldn’t fit in with the adult book group. With my personality and beliefs I feel like I fit in with the generations younger than me the best. I will have a job at a convenient store where most of the employees will be still in highschool/around my age, but I prefer to keep professional relationships at work rather than friendships.
Is there any way I can meet and make friends in my new state despite all this?
