Why does this happen?

Whenever I get into an argument with someone or stand up for something, specifically at school, one of my legs starts heating up and moves up and down as if I’m tapping the floor. I usually hold my knee tightly (of the leg that is reacting). I get a sunken feeling in my chest and my face will sometimes heat up. I don’t know why this happens. This has started this year which is my Junior year. I’ve been bullied before in middle school and have had suicidal thoughts. I have never really gotten any help though. Could all of this be linked?

As Somthinq_The_Lord_Created said, it sounds like an angry tic. It doesn't indicate that anything is wrong with you. Our feelings are connected to our bodies, everything is connected, it's physical as much as it is mental. Your face heating up when you get angry is probably really common, just like when you get embarrassed it happens. I haven't heard of the leg movements specifically coming on when angry before, but my friend's leg often does the 'tapping' you describe with any emotion. There's nothing medically wrong with him. If it is bothering you though, don't Google what it could be, that can just make you paranoid. Go to your local/family doctor and ask them what's up. I hope this helps. x

well you could just be noticing your energy levels inside of you.. Some people can actually feel a type of energy from anger levels inside of them building up.. I am going to guess .. that sunken feeling.. I know that feeling.. It usually is the result of pure anger, frustration and stress... You might want to recollect yourself.. and start doing like zen exercises to calm down the energies inside you and bring your levels back down to neutral.. If you let anger and things like that build up inside you so long it can cause physical adverse effects.. Work on trying to keep your self calm .. do relaxing things.. some say meditation helps receive stress buildup.. perhaps you could try that out..
