Why do I always like guys that are older than me? Like seriously, is there something wrong with me? They’re not, like, 30 or anything. The oldest is 21. I’ve known him for awhile, and he’s cute and sweet and stuff. But HE’S 21! I’m only 14. Is this normal?
There is nothing wrong with you, don't ever let anyone convince you to think otherwise, including yourself. There is nothing wrong with liking older boys, my aunt and uncle are 15 years apart and they're one of the happiest married couple I know.
Of course, being a minor adds a bit of a problem, both legally and ethically for some people.
As long as your happy and safe, being cautious and don't let anyone pressure you into doing something you don't want, not having your full consent.
Don't fret to much about it, you are still young, and there'll be ton's of boys catching your eye, just sit back and enjoy the ride. Don't take things to seriously.
When we're young, we tend to see adults as responsible, and reliable guys. Maybe it's just a crush. Maybe an admiration. Maybe you really do have a thing for older (than you) men. There's really nothing wrong with it. It's your preference.
I have a friend who, at 18, finds 40-year-olds attractive. If she's perfectly normal, than so are you. That being said, I know how hard it is to crush on people that probably won't ever like you like that. Like people have said, just ride it out. Feelings do go away over time.
Most girls like guys who are older than them, it's very normal. It's mostly common when you have a celebrity crush.
The thing is that most boys your own age are immature. And girls are known to mature faster than guys.
I actually like guys who are at least 5 years older than me, but that's just because that way, they are out of puberty (Little, or no acne) and are a lot more mature. Who wouldn't like a guy like that? But please understand that's just because it's normal for you to be attracted to a guy that's THAT much older than you, does not mean that it's okay for you to be with them ... Trying to date a guy who's 21 when you're 14, does not end well ... For anybody. Trust me. I hope my advice helped you.
