What is the meaning of success?

1

People have different meaning of success. I just want to know those meanings. And it might sound a bit odd but I don’t have my definition of success. Moreover my life just seems to be going on a path I have not created and I do not have the answers to my own questions and it’s just so much more complicated than it was before. So I just want people to help me figure out stuff.

Are you looking for success, or are you looking for a life goal ? I don't think their completely the same. Life can be full of successes, whether you set up a life goal or not and whether you achieve it or not. You can set up the goal to become President and then if you run the New York Marathon, you won't have achieved this goal but it will still be a success in your life.

As for the life goal, aim high, be idealistic, find something that matters, something you're ready to work for night and day. Read books, watch documentaries, find what you like, what you love, what matters.

Mainly it comes from what you think is important for yourself, what do you like/love? what is your passion? Doing something you love, no matter how good you are at it is a success or a step further down that road. There are things that society or people in general agree that constitute success, such as money, prestige, social status and so on. However, those things do not necessarily mean you are "successful" (not to me at least). I think that the only one that can tell you if you are successful is you.

Feeling satisfied by the goal you set for your self

Hi Ridhi, I would say that the meaning of success really depends on the concrete situation you are in, and the opportunities that you have and can get. I wish I could give you an answer that would clear your mind, but it really cannot be done. You must figure out for yourself the hard way. But, I think it would really help for you to post your concrete situation ... what is the path on which your life is going ? what choices do you have ? what else could you want to do ?
