I know i am helpless, dependent, desperate. I’ve been told this for most of my life. But what happens when those you need most threaten your very existence? what would you do? just looking for opinions. Thanks :)

Those people are no longer needed in your life then. You can move on without them. That's what I have had to do several times in life.
