What are some suggestions to calm yourself down when you want to burst into tears?
When im feeling down and want to cry and become very anxious, stressed and shaky when i know its an overreaction, what are somethings i can do to calm down so i dont cry and potentially embarass myself? or anything to just make me feel more relaxed?
I don't know if this helps but when I get close to having an emotional break down I just try to leave the room or go to the bathroom to relax the stress building up. But if I'm talking to someone I just try and think I don't want them to see me sad and cause them problems. That tends to make me a little bit more relaxed or at least stop me from breaking down. Sometimes doing stuff like work or doing a hobby will take stuff off your mind. But sometimes you do need to let go and cry. Crying helps you the best to relieve your stress. I cry myself to sleep if I have a stressful day. Maybe that might help.. I wish you the best of luck! Sorry if i didn't help.
Breathe deeply, close your eyes and shut everything out for a couple of seconds. Listen to the calmest songs you know and write or even draw how you feel, it doesn't have to be a Picasso it could just be a bunch of scribbles!

I get that way a lot! But some of the ways I deal with it are writing it down.. I do cry while writing it, but after I'm all down writing, I feel SO much better. I also like to go for a walk while listening to my headphones. Or even watching kids shows (:p) It totally takes my mind off of everything.
Focus on remembering all the lyrics of a song until you calm down, then later when you are alone (or with people you trust) find a way to let it out!
It feels a little crazy sometimes, but if I'm REALLY upset, I'll go to my room or somewhere no one can hear me and vent out loud about my problems. Basically just cry and pace and be verbally angry until I feel better.
Once you're done being upset, do something happy or calm :)
Deep breathing. In through the nose, out through the mouth. Some say swallowing will help the tears stay at bay. Think of anything and everything else except what is bothering you. Sing a song in your head if you have to. Go for a walk alone and just breathe until you are calmed.
