Something I wrote, help me make sense of it.

Hi. I saw someone write something on wattpad and post it here on the QnA to help people understand their own personality traits. Anyways, I wrote something on there filled with my opinions which are loaded by hate, self-loathing, and anger in general to several different subjects. It’s filled with strong language, borderline hate speech and my harsh opinions about things. More so than I’d like to admit actually. I want someone to tell me what’s going on in my life that could influence that kind of stuff, it frustrates me. I’m confused right now.

Obviously, you're angry. You have just yet to figure out how to harness your anger and direct it into useful pursuits. You are riding the wave of your emotions instead of learning to control them.

You enjoy expressing yourself, and want you want to express is your vast well of anger. That is not necessarily a bad thing. Anger is a powerful tool and when properly wielded, it can be a great motivator, but on the flip-side, anger is difficult to control because it is so strong. Just like mankind learned to ride horses, so we learned to handle our emotions. It is not true that we are slaves to our feelings, it just takes time and error to learn how best and how not to control ourselves.

I had similar problems, but what helped me was a great example of control. That example came in the form of the book series "The Sword of Truth" by author Terry Goodkind, an atheist who espouses the merits and nobility of seeking the truth and using rational thought to get us to our goals, instead of being wildly controlled by our emotions. The series even offers a list of principles guiding intelligent minds in their efforts of discerning reality.
