Requesting Recommendation Letters

Hey BlahTherapy community :) I hope it’s okay that the question I have doesn’t concern a deeply emotional issue. I guess some anxiety is definitely involved, though. I go to a small, private university and will be graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Spanish this coming May. I am hoping to go to grad school next fall and am super nervous about asking professors for recommendation letters, as three are required for most applications I’ve seen. I’m pretty much a ‘B’ student, and I know and have chatted with my professors several times, but can’t think of more than one who seems particularly fond of me/who I’ve gotten to know on a bit more of a personal level. Also, I’ve only taken one or two classes with the professors I’d consider asking. The second part of the dilemma comes in where I’m currently abroad for the semester and can’t ask for the recommendations in person although I’d really love to start getting applications complete and available for review around the present. It seems to me that my best option could be sending an e-mail to each of the professors I might get a “yes” from. I don’t know, just really stressing about this. Any advice?

I think e-mailing is best. You should probably e-mail 3-4 to be safe. You can also mention, in the e-mail, something about you that might help their memories along. Of course there's the obvious, like the classes you took and when. Can you think of any interesting conversations or unique projects you might have done under them?
