'Popping the cherry' is not a thing - the hymen (or corona) in the vast majority of people does not fully cover the vaginal opening, and does not (or SHOULD not) 'pop' or break in any way when having sex. It may stretch but it should not actually break, nor is sex actually supposed to hurt the first time. You are also not 'supposed' to bleed. Now, people don't often know this. Its something that's been spread around for ages to the point where men and women think its somehow normal so men aren't as careful as they may otherwise be and women say nothing because they think that's how its supposed to be. Now, if things were painful there's a good chance your partner may have been a bit rougher than they should have been. It is possible that you were bleeding a little because of that. But brown discharge from the vagina is not normal and I would recommend going to see your doctor just in case - best case scenario nothing's really wrong and maybe its a bit of blood and you just need to take it easy for a bit and heal up. But brown discharge is usually a bad sign so I would get it looked at just in case.
