Reality doesn’t seem real

I always wake up everyday feeling as if the world was surreal and feeling as if I’m still dreaming in my sleep. I can’t concentrate in school and i’m very disorganised. I’m suffering from depression but nobody suspects a thing… I just can’t talk to anyone about what’s happening. What should I do?

That feeling is probably the result of not getting enough sleep, and then waking up in the middle of deep sleep or REM sleep.

It may or may not having anything to do with depression, but lack of sleep can SERIOUSLY contribute to depression; it may account for most of it. Disorganization and lack of concentration, too.

If at all possible, try to get more sleep; really make an effort to go to bed on time for a week. By the end of the week you'll be feeling much better. If you are having trouble sleeping, there are drugs for that; I would see a doctor and get some. Depression also has very effective and safe meds for it, but I would bet that your biggest problem right now is sleep.

Even if you can't, you should try talking to someone about it. I am sure there is someone out there who is ready to listen to you and not judge you. Don't be afraid. If you want you can share it online, here. Or you could tell someone you trust. You may not get the all the answers straight away, but it should help you.All the best! Take care :)

Hi there!I struggle with depersonalization disorder, and this sounds all too familiar to me. You could be having dissociative or depersonalized states. If you feel like this constantly then it could be more serious. Have you done any drugs or drank alcohol? That could contribute to this feeling. You give a very brief explanation, so it's hard to help. Feel free to message me, and contact a doctor/pysch so you can get proper help.xo, good luck.
