Odd….?

So with the past year or so I just havent been able to game out like I used to.

I used to be able to put in almost any game and play for hours and really get into it.

But last year or so I havent been able to just game out for hours and get into a game. Instead I flip through all my games and stare at them with nothing “popping out” pr me getting excited over.

I recently tried to get back into WoW with a friend but that lasted 8 hours over 30 days. I tried d20 Rpgs (Like dungeons and dragons) almost got into it but lost interest quick after I had to learn ALOT of rules and finding very few people to play….I only seem to be able to get into a game if someone else plays but I dont hold a story line well or I feel as if Im bored still and am only playing cause someone else is.

I just think this is odd cause I used to game out “hardcore” all the time now its almost impossible to game….Any ideas or suggestions

It might just be that you've grown in age and maturity. Sometimes, as you get older, things you used to love, loose their luster. Maybe try exploring other hobbies like art, books, or even just watching movies as opposed to playing games. Just test out a few things until you find something that really sticks with you.

I was a hardcore gamer until I hit 24, then it just left me. I sat on WoW for days on end, I was a grindmaster. That changed. I changed, and you're changing.

Don't let it bother you, you just need to find more things to do. As you pursue other things, your desire to hit the old games will come back. You won't STOP enjoying games, you're just needing more in your life, and that's okay.

Have you tried League of Legends or try to get on a Teamspeak3 Server to speak to other gamers. Maybe if you make some online hardcore gamers you can play with them. There's nothing wrong with not feeling up to gaming sometimes. I game daily, it's kinda my life at the moment but I have times where I just do something else. I don't even feel like picking up the controller or laptop.

I was like you and could spend hours, even days on games (ahh morrowind) but now I can bearly sit and play on a game for more than an hour or two. Its not a bad thing, but as I said to myself many years ago I needed more adventure in life than what video games could give me, so I started to get into mountaineering, camping and rock climbing to fill my excitement that games can't anymore. I suggest it as it's really helped for me, even though I still play games because they are still awesome, I just now prefer having real life adventures. I'll be honest, when I'm climbing a mountain or camping my mind still likes to wander and think I'm a character having an adventure in a game.
