No job, no school.

I am disabled and don’t go to school or work; i do volunteer in a library several hours a week tho. I’ve been officially disabled for about 3 years. So-no school, no work….where or how can i meet new friends? It seems like there’s only internet dating sites, i don’t go to the bar ever, and the library isn’t really a place to chat it up & get to know new friends. I’ve tried the library’s book club and there is only elderly ladies there. Besides online, any suggestions?

Well, if you like volunteering, you could try volunteering in other places as well. It will depend solely on where you live, what's near you, and your capability, but I'm sure there are other places. Maybe you could try proposing another book club at your library, for the younger audience (I'm not sure how old you are). If you have a community center I'm sure there's something. Maybe you could try Meetup.com and see if there are any interesting social groups near you, and if not, you could create one and see how many people it draws in. It's completely free. If there's any kind of events on, like festivals or crafting or open mic nights, maybe you could try those. This is all I can think of right now. If I think of some more I'll let you know. I hope this helps though.
