Meeting people

Well… I posted this on a forum the general one, I thought I would post it here too! There are thousands of members on this site, so some of them have to live close to each other. I’m having the hardest time finding anyone to talk to in my town, and I’ve been here for 20 years. I have suffered from social anxiety, self esteem issues, shyness, and so much more. For the first time in my life, I’m telling myself I’m worth it, and if people don’t like me I’m sorry. So, I’m trying to find people in my town to hang out with, I literally have no one. I was hoping maybe there would be a group in my town like a shy social anxiety group, but I couldn’t find any. Let’s see where everyone lives, and maybe we can make new friends. We are all on this site for a reason, because were shy, have social anxiety, or many many more reasons, and some of us just like to listen. I think if we met people from here that lived near us it would be helpful, it’s nice to have someone to tell things to, or just be there for you.

So…. I live in the panhandle of florida, northwest florida to be exact, in between Destin and Tallahassee. See that’s all you have to do. You don’t have to give your real town, just give towns close to you. I doubt someone can search you down from those specifics anyways.

I’m just going to put this out there, and hope for the best. Thank you guys!

What a brave thing to do! It is hard for people to get together these days because of personal, emotional or financial reasons. I often find myself being upset when it appears that I am surrounded by people, but feel extremely alone. When I do feel this, I take action. I read that you cannot find a group to meet with who have your same interest. Why don't you be the starter of a group and invite people to meet or start a mixer for people to meet in your area. Local libraries and meeting halls may allow you to do this for FREE! Put out some flyers and see what happens. You may have to host an event a few time to get great responses. So get out there and make it happen! Good luck to you!

Thank you, that's a fantatsic idea. Although, I am not sure how it would work if I ran a group. I wouldn't really want to speak in front of people, I'd like to just sit and observe. But, that's a wonderful suggestion though, thank you.
