I’m pushing people away,help?

I have a problem of pushing people away from me.Anytime someone tries to get closer,i push him away thinking I’m not good enough for that person. How do I get rid of this fear of rejection? I’ve hurt way too many people because of this. And I also avoid meeting new people because I always think they will make fun of me or judge me.

Through vulnerability. Being open about your flaws, about what makes you think that you aren't worthy of them. It's their decision if you are worthy or not, some will think no, some will say yes, but you find the the people who think you are awesome only by opening yourself to both.
As you grow up, people who make fun of you and judge you give you a nice gift, the gift of letting you know that those people don't belong in your life. And you get to steer clear of them, and limit their negativity from affecting you in countless ways that people who also went through it will suggest you.

Follow the "three second rule". Whenever you find someone interesting, someone you would like to be friends with. You have THREE seconds to approach thema and start a conversation. This does not give you time to ponder over your fear of rejection and social anxiety hardly gets time to kick in. True the initial conversations may turn out a bit awkward but with practice you will be a pro at starting converatuions. When you successfully do this you will feel loads better about yourself! As for hurting people you already know.. I believe this could only be fixed with some self esteem. Sit down. Take a paper. Make a point by point list about how awesome you are. I'm sure you are an awesome person! This will remove your fear and tell you why you are an approachable/likable person who others have absolutely no reason to reject and every reason to accept. Further pushing away people is according to me an instinctive thing. You do realize your mistake later. Start my apologizing to people. The least it would do is rid you if the guilt. Besides everyone makes mistakes. It is those who try to correct them and take a lesson from them who are respected. Hope I helped and have a good day!
